GUWAHATI, Feb 23 - Dhritiraj Mishra and Dipjyoti Patowary from Assam Engineering College bagged the top prize of Rs 25,000 in the 2nd Annual All Guwahati Prof Dilip Kr Barua Quiz Competition organised by the Cottonian Class of �75 at the Sudmersen Hall of Cotton University here today, stated a press release.
In all, 30 teams from all the prominent colleges, universities and professional institutions in the city participated in the event. The second and third prizes of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 were presented to Ankurjyoty Sarma and Raktim Ranjan Baishya of Cotton University and Sayan Mazumder and Bishwayan Bhattacharya of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital respectively.
Quizmaster Robin Kalita assisted by Dipankar Kaushik conducted the quiz.
Bhabesh Ch Goswami, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University, attended the occasion as chief guest, the release added.
A unique feature of the quiz competition was a costume round in which young girls in traditional attires walked on the stage and the participants were quizzed on various dress and jewellery items.
