Probe into SI�s killing urged

SHILLONG, Oct 24 � The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council (MPHRC) today condemned the brutal killing of police sub-inspector Pramoth Sangma by suspected militants in Purakhasia area of West Garo Hills District Thursday morning.

�This unfortunate killing of the police personnel has undermined the proper functioning and break-down of the criminal-justice system, a key requirement in the protection of human rights,� MPHRC Chairman Dino DG Dympep said.

The organization has urged the government for a thorough investigation to find out the perpetrators involved in the killing, while sending condolences to the police officer�s bereaved family.
