�Power to all Manipur households by Dec�

IMPHAL, March 31 - Manipur Power Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh said the target to provide electricity to all households in Manipur by December 2018 is a commitment of the State Government.

The Power Minister was speaking at the Ringui Luira Phanit and Cultural Festival, 2018 held at Ringui village in Ukhrul district recently. He added that for interior villages where installation of poles is inconceivable, power supply will be made through off-grid electrification by installing solar energy units. Explaining various schemes including Ujala, Kisan Sampada, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samriddhi, etc., the minister urged the people to avail of the scheme benefits.

The minister earlier inaugurated a 33/11 KV sub-station at Mayangkhang in Kangpokpi district. The inauguration programme was held as part of the �Inauguration Fortnight� to mark the first anniversary of the BJP-led Government in the State. The project is funded by the NEC at a cost of Rs 9.63 crore.
