Police rescues three in Jorhat

JORHAT, May 3 - Police today rescued three persons from the clutches of some angry villagers who allegedly planned to attack them on the suspicion of practising �black-magic� at Sankarchuk of Bahfola area here.

The survivors were identified as Maya Pegu Doley, Monjit Doley and Ghanashyam Hazarika.

As an NGO �Brothers� got prior information about the villagers� intention of punishing the trio, its secretary Dibyajyoti Saikia informed Jorhat police to take proper action for their security.

Police took all of them out from the village and ensured their safety.
