GUWAHATI, July 21 � Journalist Gaurab Jyoti Neog, an accused in July 9 molestation incident, has been remanded to three days� police custody by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup.
Investigators had sought three days� custody of Neog for a thorough interrogation and to locate, identify and arrest the other co-accused evading arrest.
Advocate Bijon Mahajan and advocate appeared on behalf of the accused journalist.
The Court, however, directed the investigators to facilitate medical check-up for the accused after every 24 hours.
The local TV journalist has been booked under Bhangagarh police station (case number 191/12) under Section 143/341/323/294/354/379/366/511/392/509 and 341 of the IPC.
Neog was arrested by the Special Investigation Team in connection with the July 9 incident on Friday evening, in which 13 arrests have been made so far. However, the prime accused Amarjyoti Kalita is yet to be traced.
