Police officer held for graft

RANGIYA, June 30 - One Munin Dutta, incharge of Kaurbaha police outpost here was caught red-handed by officials of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department of Assam Police last night in connection with demanding money in a bail-related case of one Ansar Ali of Bihapara village under the said outpost.

Ali alleged that the said police officer had demanded Rs 1 lakh and also sought payment of an advance amount.

Accordingly, when Ali approached Dutta for �advance payment�, Anti-Corruption officials present in the police outpost beforehand, caught him red-handed.
