DHUBRI, April 23 - Dhubri Police recently apprehended two government officials for allegedly demanding money in connection with NRC legacy data verification.
Police detained Swapan Dutta of Patamari gaon panchayat and PWD official Foridoz Jaman. Police said that they had received complaints against them that they were taking Rs 300 to Rs 500 in a bid to manipulate the legacy data verification process.
