MANGALDAI, Jan 7 - Assam Police Blues will lock horns with ASEB Sports Club in the title clash of the 40th Amba Medhi Invitational Prize-money Football Tournament, organised by Mangaldai Sports Association.
In the closely contested second semifinal played at the Mangaldai Vidyapith playground on Tuesday, Assam Police Blues got the better of defending champions Kehutoli Bangrim Club by an aggregate of 5-4 goals via penalty shoot-out.
During regulation time the match was locked 1-1. In the 21st minute Kehutoli went ahead through Bwhithi Boro. However, in the 33rd minute Chitrajit Chutia fired in the equaliser. In the tie breaker, the policemen converted four against Kehutoli�s three.
The final will be played on Thursday from 5 pm. It is for the first time that a football match will be played under lights in Mangaldai.
