MORIGAON, May 22 � In an encounter, one notorious poacher was killed while another two were apprehended by the forest protection force at Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon district late on Thursday night. According to official sources, a gang of poachers entered the sanctuary to poach rhinos there and came face-to-face with the forest guards near the Pagladuba forest camp. An encounter ensued in which one dreaded Naga poacher was killed while two others were caught red handed. One rifle and several rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.
