Petro dealers� no to cashless payments

GUWAHATI, March 6 - The North East India Petroleum Dealers� Association has decided to boycott the PoS and e-wallet facilities from April 1 in view of the problems faced by the dealers due to cashless transactions. However, cash sale would continue as usual.

At a general meeting, the association unanimously decided to boycott the cashless facilities till the reimbursement of the discounted amount is credited in the accounts of the dealers by the banks before March 31.

�For promoting cashless transaction, reimbursement of 1.5 per cent discount suggested by the Central and the State governments was to be borne by the oil marketing companies, but since then, most of dealers have not yet received the reimbursement. In this regard, neither the banks nor the oil companies have given any assurance so far,� a release issued by the greater Guwahati unit of the association stated.
