JORHAT, July 1 - On the occasion of the fourth anniversary of Digital India Campaign, the Majuli Deputy Commissioner Debaprasad Misra today launched an offline application for fast processing of pension-papers of retired government employees.

A Majuli district administration source told this newspaper that Misra formally launched the e-PPS (Electronic Pension-papers Processing System) app at the district level function of the 4th anniversary of Digital India Campaign held at the DCs office Conference Room at Garmur.

The source stated that the app is an innovative offline computer application through which a retired government employees pension papers could be processed in a very short time. The time-saving offline app has been developed locally in Majuli district by a four- member team led by Assistant Commissioner Achyut Baruah, the source informed.

Generally, the process to fill up the pension papers of a retired government employee manually requires almost five to six hours, but the new app will enable all to electronically process the papers within half-an hour only, the source said.
