GUWAHATI, July 30 - Minister of State for Revenue and Disaster Management Pallab Lochan Das, accompanied by the MLA of Hajo, Suman Haripriya, and Kamrup DC Vinod Seshan inspected the flood-affected Hajo circle of Kamrup district on Thursday.
During his visit, the minister interacted with the flood-affected people in two relief camps set up at Solmari LP School and Gaonburah Pam village. He also visited a cattle camp set up at Gaonburah Pam. While interacting with the inmates of relief camps, he assured them of providing all assistance as per rules and requested the inmates to inform the district administration immediately if there was any issue, an official release said.
Earlier, the minister reviewed the relief measures undertaken by the district administration at the Hajo IB with the departmental heads. Reviewing the relief measures, the minister expressed his satisfaction over the measures taken and urged the government officials to provide all possible help to the affected people and ensure proper sanitation, health and hygiene facilities in the relief camps, besides providing all relief items.
The minister also asked the officials to install sufficient hand pumps and toilets in all the camps. He also called for regular health check-up camps and directed all the officers to remain alert and not to leave the headquarters.
