SHILLONG, Aug 24 - National Geographic, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong, organised the screening of the Oscar-winning documentary, Free Solo, at the institute.

Free Solo documents the journey of Alex Honnold who climbed the famed El Capitan rock at the Yosemite National Park. He overcomes several hurdles to achieve his goal.

Before the screening of the documentary, Prof Sanjeeb Kakoty, faculty member of IIM-Shillong, addressed the students. An interaction programme also took place between IIM participants and trekking expert Maninder Kohli. Kohli said the journey of a rock climber is comparable with that of a manager who overcomes difficulties through determination.

This was the second time that National Geographic partnered with IIM-Shillong. The collaboration was initiated in 2018 when National Geographic screened the channels series, Mega Icons, on former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
