ONGC donates Rs 17.12 crore for Yamuna conservation

SIVASAGAR, June 18 - The ONGC involved in hydrocarbon exploration and production in Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat districts of Assam has donated Rs 17,12,62,600 under its Corporate Social Responsibility policy for preservation and cleaning of the historic Yamuna canal of the Ahom era surrounding the famous Shiva doul in Sivasagar. This was stated in a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar by the ONGC authority Nazira on June 16.

In the same communiqu�, the ONGC authority stated that it has donated Rs 3.93 crore for completion of the district library auditorium and Rs 1.49,54,600 for completion of the boundary wall around the historic Sivasagar Borpukhuri.
