SILCHAR, Oct 19: One person died in a head-on collision between a motorbike and a van at Pangram under Udharbondh constituency here.
According to police, the incident took place on the night of Maha Ashtami.
The deceased has been identified as Munna Trivedi, a resident of Udharbondh Bazar.
While Munna died on the spot, his friend who was a pillion rider sustained severe injuries along with four other passengers of the van.
They are undergoing treatment at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
