TURA, Aug 25 - A mechanic, who was on his way back from Guwahati after fetching spare parts, was abducted by a group of suspected Achik Matgrik Elite Force cadres at about 9.30 am today.
The kidnapped mechanic was married to a local Garo woman and was travelling with a friend who was also with him at the time of kidnapping. An operation to rescue the kidnapped mechanic is currently under way by the East Garo Hills Police.
