ITANAGAR, June 27 A female NSCN-K cadre has surrendered before the Changlang police in Arunachal Pradesh today, according to an official release.

A native of Songku Havi village under Khimiyong Circle of Changlang district, the cadre was forcibly picked up by NSCN-K with two other girls from Changlang town in 2010 and imparted training in NSCN-K camp in Myanmar.

She, however, left the camp last year and remained at her house with intention of not returning back to the organisation. She is being interrogated to check her involvement in any criminal activities.

The cadre was approached by Changlang police through sources to surrender before the police since she has not indulged in any nefarious activities of the organisation. After persuasion she decided to surrender before the police.

Police is hopeful that many more such misguided youth who have been forcibly inducted into the organisation will be encouraged to surrender and join the mainstream of the society, the release added.
