NSCN (K) asks Airtel to pack up

Update: 2010-09-15 00:00 GMT

DIMAPUR, July 9 - The NSCN (K) has asked Airtel to withdraw its operations from Nagaland and remove all infrastructure and installations within one month.

The NSCN (K), in a Press release, further warned that if Airtel failed to act within the stipulated deadline, it would initiate demolition of every structure and also enforce military action upon any company official found contravening this directive. The outfit alleged that Airtel was culpable of practising manipulative lobby to misguide a certain major NGO and also attempting to create chasm between NSCN (K), civil organisations and Naga public with a pure ulterior motive to maximise its profit. It said it took strong exception to the company daring to challenge its authority and warned that such conspiracy shall never be tolerated.
