Normal life in Udalguri district affected

KALAIGAON, July 11 - Like other places in the State, all the towns and villages of Udalguri district have been affected following the lockdown in Guwahati. The Udalguri district administration has banned the movement of all kinds of vehicles to and from Guwahati city for a minimum period of 7 to 10 days.

At various places in the district like Kalaigaon, Tangla, Bhergaon, Orang, Khoirabari, Udalguri, Mazbat, the restrictions have affected the normal life of people. All shops and markets were shut on Saturday and Sunday following the order of the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district.

Night curfew has been imposed in the district from 7 pm to 7 am for indefinite period of time. Biraj Kumar Barua, Circle Officer of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle, said that at present 12 persons are in quarantine under Kalaigaon Revenue Circle till Saturday.

According to him, number of people returning from other States and districts had come down drastically. He further said that at present only three persons of Kalaigaon area have been found to be COVID-19 positive. These three persons too released when their second test found to be negative in the COVID care centres.
