AIZAWL, Sept 27 - Civil societies like CYMA and student bodies have slammed the Election Commission of India (ECI) for its instruction to the Government of Mizoram to conduct a special summary revision of Bru voters lists in the six relief camps in Tripura.

Criticising the ECI directive, Young Mizo Association (YMA) general secretary Vanlalruata said there was no ground to grant special allowance to the Brus staying in six relief camps in Tripura to cast their franchise in Mizoram by postal ballots.

Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) also expressed objection to the instructions of the ECI. The student body, in a statement, said that it would by no means agree with the decision of ECI to conduct special summary revision at six relief camps in Tripura for those Brus who declined to come back to Mizoram despite repeated calls by the Central and State Governments.
