NFR to seek suggestions from MPs to improve service

GUWAHATI, Sept 2 - Following instructions issued by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, the General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will hold discussions with the Members of Parliament (MPs) from this region during the current month.

The Railway Minister has already personally written to all MPs of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha to attend these meetings and offer their suggestions on railway-related issues pertaining to their States and constituencies.

By this, the Railways intend to make its policy-making more inclusive so that the needs of the local people are accorded paramount importance.

Accordingly, discussions are planned to be held with local MPs in Rangiya, Tinsukia and Lumding divisions of NFR on September 7, 12 and 28 respectively.

It may be mentioned that the Railways already has a system in place like Divisional Railway Users� Consultative Committee (DRUCC) and Zonal Railway Users� Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) which deliberates regularly on various issues pertaining to passenger amenities, cleanliness, catering and punctuality.
