GUWAHATI, Feb 24 - NF Railway emerged champions in the 10th edition of the Veteran Inter District and Inter Institutional T20 Cricket Tournament.
In the final played at Goalpara today, NF Railway posted a convincing eight-wicket victory against Guwahati.
Put into bat the Guwahati batsmen scored a modest total of 167 for seven in 20 overs. Situ Das was their top scorer with 46 while NFR pacer Mrigen Talukdar wrecked the Guwahati innings with a fifer.
In reply NF Railway took 17 overs to cross the opponent�s total losing just two wickets. Man-of-the-Match Mrigen Talukdar contributed unbeaten 45 while Syed Zakaria Zuffri also remained not out with 55.
Assam Cricket Association secretary Pradip Buragohain was the chief guest in the closing function.
Parag Das, Zakaria Zuffri, Deep Bora (all NF Railway) received Man-of-the-Tournament, Best Batsman and Best Bowler awards respectively.
