ITANAGAR, May 10 - North Eastern Council (NEC) Secretary Ram Muviah, who was in Itanagar on Monday, said that a multi-layer monitoring system has been put in place to ensure work quality, cost escalation and timely completion of projects.
The NEC Secretary, accompanied by Director, Science and Technology, Administration, Dr Shailendra Chaudhari and Superintending Engineer (T&C) Doba Jini, called on Deputy Chief Minister Kameng Dolo at his official bungalow here and discussed various issues pertaining to road connectivity and infrastructural development.
During the course of discussion, Muviah informed that the first instalment of fund for the Pakke-Kessang-Seijosa-Itakhola road has already been released to the State government and added that there is �undue delay� in completing the tender process.
On the importance of road connectivity, he opined that inter-road connectivity is vital for the progress and development of the region. The NEC has been mandated to prioritise infrastructural developments, such as road, hospital, medical colleges for the NE region, which is lagging behind in comparison to other States.
While Dolo expressed his desire to have a state-of-the-art community health centre at Seijosa, bordering Assam, to cater to the need of health care delivery for the people at their doorsteps, the NEC Secretary �assured� to sanction necessary funds for construction of the facility and sought a proposal through Planning Department at the earliest.
