GUWAHATI, April 18 - The State government has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for installation of a bronze statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and setting up a park.
In a release, the All Assam Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthday Celebration Committee said it had submitted a memorandum on January 23 to the Chief Minister for installation of Netaji�s statue at Netaji Chowk at Paltan Bazar here.
The committee�s chief patron and MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, patron and Guwahati Mayor Mrigen Sarania, working president Debashish Sengupta and advisors Prantosh Roy and Nawaz Mallick thanked Sonowal for the prompt response.
