New Meghalaya DGP

SHILLONG, Jan 10 � Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) chief Rajiv Mehta has been appointed as the next Meghalaya Director General of Police. A 1981 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IPS officer, Mehta was appointed as the State DGP by the State Security Commission. The Commission appointed Mehta from amongst five IPS officers that included Devendra Kumar Pathak, Rajendra Kumar, Ramesh Tayal and Sunil Kumar Jain. The new DGP is expected to join office on Monday.
