New land policy to harm Muslims, claims Ajmal

Update: 2010-09-15 00:00 GMT

SILCHAR, Jan 20 - AIUDF chief and Dhubri MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal has criticised the new land policy-2019 released by the Assam Government and termed it as a blatant ploy against Muslims in the state.

Addressing a massive gathering at Badarpur today on the occasion of the 55th annual conference of North East India Emar-e-Shariah and Nadwatut Tameer, Ajmal said, the steps adopted by the BJP-led Government is a conspiracy to snatch away land rights from around 90 lakh Muslims residing in the state for generations.

He added that when neither the Parliament or the state Assembly could not define the exact connotation of Khilonjia, the measures adopted by the government is nothing but a ploy against the Muslims.

He urged the gathering to take a defining stance democratically by opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 and foil the intent of religious polarisation by the BJP government.
