New Arunachal DGP takes charge

ITANAGAR, July 27 - The newly-appointed Arunachal Pradesh DGP Rajender Pal Upadhyaya took charge today. He succeeds SBK Singh, who has been transferred as the new DGP of Mizoram.

Upadhyaya, a 1991 batch IPS officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories cadre, had held the post of the Commissioner to Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (retd) since March last.

Interacting with media persons at the Police Headquarters here, the new DGP listed out his priorities and said that his first and foremost duty would be to create a safe and secure environment for the citizens and improve police visibility.
