National Youth Day

GUWAHATI, Jan 13 - National Youth Day was organised today at Japorigog ME & High School by the district nodal agency (Kamrup Metro) in association of the Rural Women Upliftment Association of Assam, with support from the Assam Science, Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC).

The programme was inaugurated by the Headmaster of the ME section Lachit Chandra Tumung, who said that the main objective of organising such a youth programme was to fulfil the aim of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see a digital India.

SK Bordoloi delivered a speech on the main theme and objective of the National Youth Day programme. He also paid tribute to social reformer Swami Vivekananda on his 154th birth anniversary. He also highlighted the great challenge climate change has brought to the human race and the need to tackle it in an effective manner.

A quiz competition was held on the occasion. Prizes were distributed to the winners and the students of the school presented a cultural programme. A practical session on hand washing was held for promoting the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.
