National seminar at Jorhat

GUWAHATI, Feb 16 - A National Commission for Women, New Delhi-sponsored two-day national seminar on �Crime Against Women in North-East India: Its Correlation with Conflict and Natural Calamities� will be held at Kakojan College, Jorhat on March 5 and 6.

The main objective of the seminar is to identify the trends and patterns of crime against women in the areas prone to conflict and natural calamities and to explore possible ways to addressing multi faceted crimes against women.

The seminar will be inaugurated by renowned academician Dr PK Bhowmick, faculty IIT Kharagpur. Patricia Mukhim, social activist, writer and Editor of Shillong Times will be the keynote speaker.
