National award for GU professor

DOOMDOOMA, June 6 - Dr Ritamoni Baishya Talukder, an associate professor of Hindi department of Gauhati University has won a national award for her book Lohit Kinare.

The award is given by Central Hindi Directorate under Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Human Resources Development. Every year this award is given to non-Hindi writers. The award carries a citation and a cash prize.

Lohit Kinare is a collection of ten Assamese short stories written by Sneh Devi, Nirupama Borgohain, Monikuntala Bhattacharjee, Mamoni Roisom Goswami, Manorama Das Medhi, Purabi Bormudoi, Arupa Patangiya Kalita, Reeta Choudhury, Anuradha Sarma Pujari and Mausumi Kandali and translated into Hindi by Dr Ritamoni Baishya Talukder. The book has been published by Navachetan Prakashan, New Delhi.
