Nalbari BJP gearing up for panchayat polls

NALBARI,Dec 4 - The ruling BJP has geared up organisational activities in Nalbari district for the ensuing panchayat elections.

The Nalbari BJP on Saturday organised a workers� meet at Chakbazar to discuss issues related to the election. Addressing the meeting, Amiya Bhuyan, secretary of the State BJP said that the fight of the BJP Government against corruption has generated confidence among the people. The clean image of the Sarbananda Sonowal Government will help in achieving better results, he added. He said that if the panchayat representatives were also found corrupt then they will be jailed. Bhuyan called upon the people to file cases at the local police station against those present panchayat representative found corrupt.

The meeting presided over by Jayram Barman, president of the mandal BJP was also addressed by Ashok Kumar Sarma, MLA of Nalbari LAC, Phanindra Sarma, chief organising secretary of the State BJP, Banadip Deka, president of the district unit of the BJP. In the meeting, a total of 50 activists from different political parties joined the BJP.
