Nagaland cases cross 900 mark

DIMAPUR, July 15 - Nagaland�s COVID-19 positive cases crossed the 900 mark with the detection of six new cases today.

Principal Secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha, in a press briefing, said the total number of positive cases in the State stood at 902 on Wednesday.

He said all the positive persons are being treated at designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care centres, while contact tracing is in progress to prevent further spread of the infection.

Out of the 902 positive cases, 554 are active cases and 348 patients have already recovered. As per the severity of symptoms, 539 active cases are asymptomatic and 15 cases are mild, he added.

Sinha said 17,127 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR till date and the results of 16,802 samples have already been received.

Besides, 10,895 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat. Of these, 10,278 samples have tested negative and 327 samples have tested positive, which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.

Altogether 2,953 persons are at present under facility quarantine.
