Mukul Leader of Opposition in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, March 20 - Congress leader and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has been recognised as the Leader of Opposition, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker Donkupar Roy announced today.

He said the Assembly Secretariat has issued a notification in this regard. The former Chief Minister was elected CLP leader. The Congress won 21 of the 59 seats the party contested. Sangma who won from Ampati and Songsak, has resigned from his home constituency Ampati which he has represented since 1993. � PTI
