Monsoon hits NE

GUWAHATI, June 14 - The South-West Monsoon arrived in the Northeast region today.

Deputy Director General of Meteorology (DDGM), Dr Sanjay O�Neil Shaw, told this newspaper this afternoon that the South-West Monsoon has covered Northeastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and some parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today.

The northern limit of monsoon (NLM) passes through Latitude 15 degree North and Longitude 60 degree East, Latitude 15 degree North and Longitude 70 degree East, Karwar, Gadag, Ongole, and Latitude 16 degree North and Longitude 85 degree East, Latitude 20 degree North and Longitude 90 degree East, latitude 22 degree North and Longitude 90 degree East and Gangtok, said the DDGM.
