GUWAHATI, March 27 - Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta has described Saturdays speeches by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election rallies in the State, as nothing but histrionics.

In a statement here today, the APCC president also described the Prime Minister as a dream merchant, who always sells his dreams to the people to woo them for their votes and then dumps all his pledges so that they can never turn into reality.

This trick of Modi has become fairly known to the people of the country and this time, the people of the State would show him as to how disapproving they have become of such tricks, Dutta said, adding, Modi has no words left to answer the queries of the people of the State on the issue of his government deporting the foreign nationals illegally staying in Assam, by May 16, 2014.

Nor he can utter any word on the issue of abrogating the Special State status of Assam, permanently shelving the NE regions mega dam project proposals, solving the flood and erosion problems of the State, among others, the APCC president said. He added that Modi is raising some other issues again with the motive to play another trick on the people of the State.
