MLA LAD fund to be hiked

GUWAHATI, Dec 23 � The MLAs� Local Area Development (LAD) Fund is likely to be enhanced substantially in the 2012-13 Budget. This was stated by Planning and Development Minister Tanka Bahadur Rai in the Assembly today while replying to a demand for a hike in the fund raised by Chandan Sarkar (Congress) and supported by other members.

Rai said that a hike which could be in the range of Rs 1 to 5 crore was highly imperative and would be effected in the 2012-13 Budget.
