GUWAHATI, Aug 3 - A ten-year-old boy has been missing after he reportedly fell into Bahini river near PEEBCO at Dispur this evening. The boy, according to onlookers, was looking for plastic bottles when he slipped into the river. According to the district administration, the boy was a ragpicker who is often seen in the area.
Meanwhile, members of the State Disaster Response Force rushed to the spot following the incident which took place around 5 pm. Rescue operation was on till the filing of this report. The water level of the river rose considerably following this afternoon's heavy downpour.
