Minister visits historical sites in Sadiya

DOOMDOOMA, Oct 9 - Water Resources Minister Keshab Mahanta, who also holds the portfolio of the Archaeological Department, visited the historical sites in Sadiya on Monday. Arriving at Doomdooma, the Minister first visited the rampart of the pre-historic era situated at Mesaki in Dholla. The Circle Officer of Doomdooma Revenue Circle accompanied the Minister.

Later, the Minister along with the local MLA Bolin Chetia visited the historic Burha- Burhi Saal and had an interaction with the managing committee of the Saal. The committee informed the Minister that 386 bighas of land belonging to the Saal had been encorched upon. The Minister instructed the SDO (Civil) of Sadiya Biswajit Phukan to take immediate steps to free the encroached land of the Saal.

The Minister also visited the Pratima Garh (rampart) and the seven ponds situated near the rampart. He instructed the SDO (Civil) of Sadiya to free the encroached land.
