Minister visits erosion-hit sites

SIVASAGAR, Aug 19 - Keshab Mahanta, Minister for Water Resources, Science and Technology visited the erosion-affected sites at Raghubari along the Dikhow embankment

He also inspected the worst affected point of erosion and assured the local people that the erosion will be checked with modern technology on a priority basis.

He was accompanied by departmental officers and leaders of the AGP Bhavani Kumar Baruah, Anil Gogoi and Bipul Borkotoky.

The Dikhow river flooded the entire Jokaichuk Mouza in Dikhowmukh and caused serious threat to the embankment at Raghubari which was however mended promptly by the department with the help of the local people.
