Miliki Baruah�s death mourned

GUWAHATI, Oct 1 - The All Assam Students� Union (AASU) has mourned the death of Miliki Baruah, mother of ULFA (I) commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah. She died at her Chabua Jeraigaon residence around 11-15 am today following an illness for the past few days. She was 88.

With the death of Miliki Baruah, the State has lost a bold and outspoken woman, said AASU president Dipanka Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi in a condolence message here this evening. They also extended sympathy to Baruah�s bereaved family.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta has also mourned the death of Baruah and extended sympathy to her bereaved family.

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has also mourned the death of Baruah. AGP president Atul Bora said in a press release here this evening that the death of Baruah is an irreparable loss to the �national life� of the State. Former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta has also mourned the death of Baruah. Asom Yuva Parishad president Sunil Rajkonwar has also mourned the death of Baruah, said an AGP press release.
