Meghalaya book fair inaugurated

SHILLONG, June10 � Meghalaya Governor V Shanmuganathan has asserted that reading books gives �direction and perspective to life� and urged students to read at least one biography of a great man.

Inaugurating the �Shillong Book Fair� here on Monday, he told the gathering of students that reading the biography of any great man gives direction and perspective to life.

The eight-day book fair is being organised by the National Book Trust in collaboration with the Directorate of Arts and Culture, District Administration and St Edmund�s College at the State Central Library.

More than 40 publishers/booksellers from all over India are participating in the book fair.
