Meghalaya active cases slip to 547

SHILLONG, July 27 - Altogether, 36 Covid-positive cases were reported and 51 patients recovered in the past 24 hours across Meghalaya as the State Capital entered the first of the 3-day lockdown.

Due to the large number of recoveries, the active cases went down from 562 to 547 despite the new cases. The total recoveries shot up to 186.

Meanwhile, East Khasi Hills has notified some more areas as containment zones in the State Capital as most of the cases are from the district.

In its order, the Deputy Commissioner said: �Due to the detection of COVlD-19 positive cases in 5 households on the lane near the Shiv Mandir, Block-2 of Pynthorbah, the entire lane from Bhogee Chaudary Laundry to the bridge near Bilco School, Pynthorbah, entire lane leading to the Saint Nanak School lane, Pynthorbah, (some) buildings of Circle�I-III of Mawpat� these areas and buildings have been declared as containment zones. � Staff Correspondent
