ITANAGAR, Aug 2 - The Gurgaon-based hospital Medanta Medicity, located in the vicinity of New Delhi, will soon be empanelled under the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister�s Universal Health Insurance Scheme (APCMUHIS) giving relief to scores of patients from the hilly Northeastern state who frequent the national capital for specialised treatments.
This assurance was given by the CMD of the hospital, Dr Naresh Trehan to Arunachal Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, who paid a visit to the hospital on Monday. Tuki had, in an informal meeting with Dr Trehan, explained the people-centric scheme of the State Government and requested Medenata to be empanelled with the scheme so that people of the state can undergo cashless treatment in the reputed hospital.
Tuki, also the Minister in-charge of Finance, while presenting the Budget for the financial year 2015-16 recently in the State Assembly, announced to enhance the health coverage under APCMUHIS � a pet project of the CM �from existing Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh per household per year.
Taking the enthusiasm of the CM in a positive stride, the founder CMD also proposed to establish a Nursing College in Arunachal Pradesh on PPP mode. Tuki welcomed the proposal and assured all possible assistance and cooperation from the State Government.
Further, Dr Tehran offered to provide treatment to child patients from the state at subsidised rates as well as offer employment to eligible nursing graduates and certificate holders. He also said that Medanta would be happy to associate with the state�s ambitious programme for skill development and employment generation.
