SHILLONG, July 20 (PTI) - Army chief VK Singh today said Maoist menace is a "law and order problem" and is being well handled by the "law and order machinery".
"So far as the Maoists are concerned, Army is not employed for the simple reason that it is still a law and order problem... it is a problem which has come up over a period of time because of various causes," he said when asked why the Army was not being deployed in Maoist-hit areas.
He said the situation was being handled well by the "law and order machinery".
