IMPHAL, Jan 5 � Eeshing (water), a Manipuri play developed and directed by Manipuri Theatre Academy (MATA), was staged at Jawahalal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy auditorium here this afternoon.
The play which was based on the suffering of the people due to various social problems was designed and directed by MATA�s director Sarungbam Biren. The play is translated into Manipuri by BK Wahengba from Komal Swaminathan�s script.
The formal inauguration of the play was attended by ex-Minister Dr Moirangthem Nara Singh, besides Manipur State Kala Akademi secretary S Vedeshwar Sharma and theatre critic Budha Chingthem.
DoNER Minister: The Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region Paban Singh Ghatowar is scheduled to arrive here on January 8 on a day�s visit to the State, official sources said. He will launch the NERCORMP-III project at MFDC auditorium in Imphal.
