IMPHAL, Dec 22 - Manipur Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Thongam Bishwajit today said that the State Government is targeting to construct 9,740 houses under Prime Minister�s Awas Yojana in the Gram Panchayat areas by March 31, 2018.
The Minister was replying to a question raised by Opposition Congress MLA K Meghachandra Singh in the Assembly on Thursday.
He said the selected district-wise number of beneficiaries were: Bishnupur 347, Chandel 972, Churachandpur 1819, Imphal East 1332, Imphal West 423, Senapati 1536, Tamenglong 1068, Thoubal 1586 and Ukhrul 657.
