Manipur reports 4 more virus deaths

IMPHAL, Oct 20 - Manipur reported four more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, officials said today. The cumulative number of deaths in the State has touched 121.

In the last 24 hours, four males � one each from Churachandpur, Thoubal, Imphal West and Imphal East � expired at the Shija Hospital and the RIMS, stated an official press release.

In the same period, 277 persons from the general population and seven Central Armed Police Forces personnel were confirmed positive for COVID-19, the release added. The new cases were detected in 22 testing facilities across the State.

Meanwhile, 146 persons were discharged from 17 COVID care facilities after they were found free of the infection in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur is currently 16,062, while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 3,882 and 12,059 respectively. The recovery rate is 75.07 per cent.
