Manipur MLA injured in road mishap

IMPHAL, Feb 8 - MLA Heikham Dingo, who represents the Sekmai Assembly constituency in Imphal West district, was injured in a road mishap on the outskirts of Imphal today. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital here, police sources stated. The accident took place when the MLA�s car collided with a truck near Khonghampat along the National Highway 2 around 1.40 pm, they added.

Dingo, who was going to his home constituency for a ceremony, was immediately rushed to the hospital along with his PSO, Ng Jiten, and driver Roshan Heikham.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh, other MLAs and officials visited Dingo and his staff and expressed the hope for their speedy recovery. Biren Singh later told media persons that the condition of the MLA and the others is stable.
