SILCHAR, March 2 - Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh will attend the inaugural ceremony of the two-day World Meetei Convention, 2020 to be held in Lamargram in Sonai constituency of Cachar district on March 4.
This was informed by L Tejamani Singha, working chairman of the convention, to the media on Monday. Singha said the convention is being organised by the Pan Meetei Convention and Assam Manipuri Progressive Front to foster camaraderie and brotherhood among Meetei Manipuris in Assam, and across the country and even abroad.
Manipur Minister Th Biswajit Singh is likely to attend the convention on March 5, he said. Cachar Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sarma and Superintendent of Police Manabendra Dev Ray have taken stock of the preparations, including the law and order situation ahead of the mega event.
