Manipur CM launches city bus services in Imphal

IMPHAL, June 25 - Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today launched the inter-district and city bus services here as part of its 100-day programme.

In the first phase, Manipur State Transport will operate city bus services in two routes, both originating from ISBT, Deulahland here. The transport agency would also initially have Imphal to Noney, Moreh, Kakching, Yairipok, Moirang and Pherzawl bus services.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh expressed confidence that the newly-revived public transport system would be successful. Stating that inter-district bus services for the remaining districts would also be launched soon, the Chief Minister said that the State Government would procure additional buses for the purpose at the earliest.
